Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for an experienced Elementary Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to support an elementary school classroom with diverse learning levels and exceptionalities. This contract position will be based on-site in Saint Johns, FL, and requires a dedicated professional ready to provide inclusive education tailored to students' individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead an elementary self-contained special education classroom.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with exceptionalities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to optimize student learning.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and district regulations.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Special Education (ESE) certification.
- Valid Florida certification in Elementary Education (K-6) or Early Childhood Education (PK-3).
- Experience working with students in a self-contained special education setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.
