Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2023-2024 school year in an elementary Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) classroom. This structured, self-contained SPED classroom serves approximately 12 students with autism spectrum disorder and/or emotional and behavioral disorders, supported by two dedicated paraprofessionals.
Location: St. Louis Park, MN
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: June 10, 2026
Hours: Full-time (8:00 AM 4:00 PM)
Program: SEL-focused classroom emphasizing behavior regulation and social-emotional growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted academic and behavioral instruction aligned with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Design and implement structured daily routines within the SEL framework
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support student development
- Develop, monitor, and adjust IEPs, behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and maintain progress data documentation
Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota teaching license with Special Education endorsement (Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or closely related)
- Proven experience in behavior support, classroom management, and SEL-centered instruction
- Previous work in self-contained or intensive support SPED settings is highly preferred
