Job DescriptionJob Title: Shipping and Receiving / Machine Operator
Job Description

This role supports high-volume production by operating a rewinder/slitter machine and learning to run multiple canning machines that manufacture and label cardboard cores used in food packaging. You will work on your feet for 10-hour shifts, monitor fast-moving equipment that can produce up to 19,000 cans per hour, and ensure products meet quality and packaging standards through careful inspection and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a rewinder/slitter machine to produce and process cardboard cores for packaging applications.
  • Learn and eventually operate multiple canning machines in a high-speed production environment.
  • Assist in making and labeling cardboard cores used for products such as grocery store seasoning containers.
  • Monitor machine performance, stay attentive to the production process, and respond quickly to any issues.
  • Perform general production and general labor tasks as needed to support continuous workflow.
  • Conduct visual inspection and quality checks on products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Use basic measurement tools to verify product dimensions and quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Multitask effectively while standing and moving throughout a 10-hour shift.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with machine operation or machine operating in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Background in general production or production work.
  • Ability to perform general labor tasks, including standing for 10-hour shifts.
  • Experience with packaging processes or working as a packaging associate.
  • Ability to perform quality checks and basic inspection tasks.
  • Familiarity with using measurement tools for product verification.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused on fast-running machinery.
  • Ability to multitask and manage several tasks simultaneously in a high-speed environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a production worker in a clean, safety-conscious facility.
  • Comfort working around high-speed canning or similar automated equipment.
  • Willingness to learn new machines and processes and cross-train in multiple areas.
  • Reliability and consistency in attendance for a 4-day, 10-hour shift schedule.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, well-lit, and safety-conscious production facility. You will work 10-hour shifts on a 4-day schedule, spending most of the day on your feet around high-speed machinery. The environment emphasizes cleanliness and safety, and you will be required to wear appropriate protective attire, including a hair net, beard cover as applicable, and ear plugs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
