Accountant
Job Duties:
The accountant position will support essential HCBS (Home and Community Based Services) compliance and operational functions. This role will contribute to Medicaid-related program integrity by assisting with HCBS compliance reviews, and technical processes that support overall provider application workflows and long-term care operations. Key duties and contributions include assisting with accounting/audit functions, development of financial reports tied to HCBS compliance and Bureau operations, and support for Medicaid waiver/program data.
Employee will provide technical assistance to consultants and DOH staff on HCBS-related financial internal controls and other compliance matters. They will resolve issues that may delay provider application processing or Medicaid participation. They will review and recommend improvements on Bureau processes and tools for HCBS monitoring/reporting, coordinate with other DOH entities and state agencies to align Medicaid HCBS requirements and support efficient handling of related applications and backlogs. They will support ad hoc assignments and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment, including data entry/extraction from databases to aid in HCBS compliance tracking and program support.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires dependability, detail-orientation, an associate’s degree or higher, two years of professional experience, excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, SharePoint, Access), database proficiency, ability to multitask with changing priorities, and strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor’s in accounting or finance and experience with financial analysis and reporting, which can enhance HCBS-related technical support.
