Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
- Operate a variety of cranes and forklifts of different capacities throughout the shipyard.
- Handle and maneuver ship components of all sizes, including pipes, valves, pumps, motors, electronic equipment, and structural machinery.
- Safely calculate weight, center of gravity, lift point capacities, and handling gear angles to ensure proper lifting procedures.
- Operate shipyard tug boats to move, moor, and berth vessels safely between dry docks and piers.
- Erect, maintain, and dismantle scaffolding to provide safe working platforms in shipbuilding areas.
- Purchase, maintain, and issue tools and equipment used in shipbuilding operations.
- Install and maintain onboard ventilation systems to prevent hazardous atmospheres.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and shipyard procedures at all times.
Qualifications:
- 3+ yrs Proven experience in rigging, crane operation, and heavy equipment handling.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, structural, and maritime components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and load calculations.
- Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
