Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU float-to-ICU position requiring at least 2 years of recent ICU experience and Level 1 trauma background, with night shifts available in 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts.
Details
- Position is primarily a PCU role with float responsibilities to ICU and other PCU/transitional units
- High-acuity patient population, including patients requiring rapid response intervention
- Night shift schedule: 7p–7:30a (3x12-hour shifts)
- 36 or 48 hours per week contract options available
- Floating required to ICU and other PCU/transitional units
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license, in hand at time of consideration — no licensure hits accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Level 1 trauma experience in a high-acuity PCU required
- PCU, Med/Surg, and Telemetry experience required
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage patients requiring rapid response
- 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Orientation provided to transitional units
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront — RTO requests made after submission will not be approved
- Former permanent employees of this health system must have been gone at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
