Job DescriptionTravel Registered Nurse (RN) Med-Surg / Orthopedic

Location: Napa, California
Job Type: Travel Contract (13 Weeks)
Pay Rate: $42.00 - $49.50/hour (Based on Experience)
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Shift: Days | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Schedule: 5 x 8-Hour Shifts | Variable Schedule | Weekend Rotation Required

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care in a Medical-Surgical setting with the flexibility to float to Orthopedic and other Medical-Surgical units as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Required Qualifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License.

• Minimum two (2) years of recent Registered Nurse experience.

• Current BLS Certification.

• Strong Medical-Surgical and/or Orthopedic nursing experience preferred.

• Excellent patient assessment and critical-thinking skills.

• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities.

• Ability to adapt quickly to different patient populations and clinical environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Medical-Surgical and Orthopedic nursing experience.

• Previous travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are welcome to apply).

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.

• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the healthcare team.

• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes.

• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation.

• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.

• Float to Orthopedic and other Medical-Surgical units as needed.

• Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
