Chicago Youth Programs (CYP) is seeking a reliable, positive, and community-minded Part-Time Youth Program Assistant to support after-school programming at our Washington Park location.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to help create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment.
What You’ll Do
• Support staff with daily after-school activities and youth programming
• Engage with youth and encourage participation
• Help supervise youth and maintain a safe, positive environment
• Assist with program setup, transitions, and activities
• Build positive relationships with youth and families
• Support attendance and family outreach as needed
• Assist with special events, field trips, and community activities
• Communicate concerns or program needs to CYP staff
• Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and other program team members
What We’re Looking For
• Experience working with children or teens is preferred
• Dependable and able to consistently work scheduled program hours
• Positive and comfortable engaging with young people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Professional, flexible, and willing to help where needed
• Commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for youth
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. College students, individuals with youth programming experience, and candidates with relevant community experience are encouraged to apply.
Schedule
Monday through Thursday
Approximately 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM
Hours may vary slightly depending on programming needs.
Compensation
$17.00 per hour
