GTMS is looking for an employee with Dispatch experience to work in Bluffdale, Utah. The Logistics Agent is responsible to contact carriers via email to book ocean and truck shipments and ensure shipments are sent on time complying with all regulations. The position is a full-time, in-office position this is not a sales position; the person in this position will be responsible for providing quality service to customers regarding the transportation of cargo through ocean contract carriers in the most cost-effective, expedient ways, in accordance with all rules, regulations and local guidelines. Excellent attention to detail, time management, and professional communication skills are a must. General knowledge of logistics procedures, transportation terminology, and some experience in the shipping industry preferred. Work at home is after a 90-day training period.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am -4:00 pm
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Process LTL and FTL orders for shipping.
- Process international orders for shipping.
- Handle a variety of record-keeping.
- Knowledge of shipping programs (Ocean carriers and Freight Forwarders).
- Make arrangements for pick up by the carrier based on the customer's purchase order.
- Manage delivery schedules, update the Customer of any changes, and create summary reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be well organized.
- Roughly 6 months of Logistics experience is required.
- Experience working with import/export brokers preferred.
- Knowledge of freight shipping systems.
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft platform including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Must have reliable transportation.
