We are hiring a Seasonal Houseperson for our exceptional Housekeeping Team. Looking for a rewarding job that still allows you to enjoy Telluride living? Purpose of Position

To consistently maintain the maximum cleanliness, comfort and appeal of all assigned areas to including guest floors, corridors, laundry room, housekeeping service landings (among some) in accordance with the standards as set forth by Management and The Mountain Lodge at Telluride.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities to include the following: (other duties may be assigned. Management also reserves the right to change or modify position descriptions from time-to-time to meet the needs of the business with or without notice).

  • Restocks service landing on a daily basis.
  • Distributes rollaway, cribs, irons/boards, hair dryers, etc. as per guest request, and ensure proper storage upon the guest(s) departure.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors and stairwell.
  • Cleans/shampoos rugs, carpets and upholstery.
  • Dusts guest corridor furniture and landing areas.
  • Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork in all corridors, as needed.
  • Washes windows (on landings), door panels, and sills.
  • Empties waste receptacles in service areas and guest corridors.
  • Transports trash and recycles to disposal area.
  • Picks up dirty linen from room attendants (as needed) and delivers to the laundry chute.
  • Shines all glasses (while following proper glassware handling procedure) on a daily basis.
  • Vacuum all guest corridors daily, edge when needed.
  • Keeps service elevator free of debris, and surfaces clean and free of fingerprints.
  • Move furniture, supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Have working knowledge of cleaning products and materials in accordance with OSHA regulations and the hotel safety guidelines.
  • Have the ability to interact verbally and effectively with all hotel guests and employees in a polite and positive manner.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Director of Housekeeping or Supervisor.

Required Position Skills

  • High school or equivalent education preferred
  • Prior hospitality experience desired

  • Fluency in English is required, additional language ability is a bonus
  • Ability to read, speak and write English

  • WORK ENVIRIONMENT
  • This is a very fast paced busy environment
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by The Mountain Lodge at Telluride, from time-to-time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Lodge

  • This position is monitored by direct/indirect supervision to ensure all unit procedures are adhered to.
  • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with The Mountain Lodge at Telluride rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the Lodge.
  • SAFETY and SANITATION
  • At all times safety and health hazards should be foremost in the minds of all employees. All employees must acquaint themselves with OSHA Standards regarding proper use, disposal and storage of chemicals, must practice common sense and not expose themselves to any work procedures which are not within the bounds of good safe practice or in MLT’s Safety Procedures.

Education/Vocational Experience

The education, specialized training, required licenses or certifications and/or years of directly related experience required to enter this job:

  • High School Diploma minimum, preferred.
  • At least one-year related experience, preferred.
