Job DescriptionAre you the expert everyone turns to for complex CNC programs?

We’re seeking a Lead NC Programmer to architect end-to-end machining processes for large CNC equipment. This role is 100% onsite in Newington, NH and reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

Imagine this challenge

An intricate part lands on your desk with tight tolerances and multiple operations. You evaluate machine center capabilities, choose the best platform for cost and throughput, design fixturing, build a complete tooling list, and generate robust tool paths. You coordinate with the scheduler/planner for machine assignment, coach a junior programmer through a tricky feature, and align with management on milestones—all before first article proves out.

What you’ll lead

  • Development and installation of CNC programs for a wide range of machining centers and technologies.
  • Creation of fixturing and precise tool paths; development of tooling lists and procurement of required tooling.
  • Selection of the appropriate machine center to minimize cost and balance setup time with run time.
  • Coordination with the scheduler/planner to assign machine centers and maintain scheduling accountability.
  • Programming and processing of complex work across multiple machine styles; serve as the plant’s programming SME.
  • Clear, effective communication across machinists, engineering, and all levels of salaried and hourly personnel.
  • Mentorship of junior CNC programmers; recommend training, new processes, and technologies to boost team efficiency.
  • Continuous improvement of process times by applying lessons learned on every job.
  • Alignment of daily execution with management goals and key milestones.

Required background

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 8 years in CNC programming, or 3 years in CNC programming plus 5 additional years as a machinist.
  • Demonstrated machine center expertise; strong GD&T skills; deep knowledge of tooling and engineering terminology/concepts.
