Tech 1 – Quality Assurance/ Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Sandy, Utah (9450 South State Street)
Job Type: Contract (12 Months)
Work Type: Onsite

Job Overview

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician (Tech 1) to support production operations at a medical device manufacturing facility.

The Quality Technician will ensure products meet quality standards by performing inspections, monitoring production processes, documenting non-conformances, and maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

This role requires strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to work in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.

Shift Schedule

Shift Time: 5:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Rotating Schedule:

2 Days On – 2 Days Off

3 Days On – 2 Days Off

2 Days On – 3 Days Off

Schedule then repeats

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor production processes and support manufacturing teams to maintain product quality
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of products and materials
• Identify and confirm defects in non-conforming products or materials
• Assist in containment and segregation of defective products
• Document quality events and assign non-conformance tracking numbers
• Maintain accurate inspection and quality documentation
• Conduct daily audits of production areas and ensure compliance with SOPs and work instructions
• Verify adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards
• Provide feedback and training to production staff regarding quality procedures
• Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality deviations
• Support internal and external quality audits
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
• Participate in continuous improvement and quality improvement projects
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in quality assurance or inspection
• Experience reading technical drawings
• Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, rulers, or vision measurement systems
• Knowledge of cGMP documentation
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
• Previous experience in medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing

Work Environment

This position supports production within a medical device manufacturing environment and may require working in a cleanroom or laboratory setting.

Employees must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including:

• Hair net
• Beard cover (if applicable)
• Safety glasses
• Safety shoes
• Hearing protection
• Smock

The role requires frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.

Employees may occasionally be exposed to:
• Moving mechanical equipment
• Moderate to loud noise levels
• Cleaning compounds or manufacturing chemicals
