Provide critical care in a fast-paced emergency room setting at a dynamic healthcare facility located on Holloman Air Force Base, NM. This contract position offers multiple shifts to accommodate diverse scheduling needs, supporting your work-life balance.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Manage care for patients with complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring their effectiveness and side effects.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication administration, and care provided with precision.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about care plans and health management.
- Participate in orientation, competency validations, and ongoing skill development.
- Collaborate effectively within the care team, making appropriate assignments and delegations.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment or compact.
- Valid certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in emergency nursing or related specialty preferred.
- Completion of new nurse orientation and competency validation as required.
Schedule & Additional Requirements:
- Multiple shifts available.
- Weekend commitment: 6 days worked per 6 weeks.
- On-call shifts: 2 per 6 weeks for emergencies or additional coverage.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:4-5.
- Floating duties possible but generally uncommon.
