About the Role:

The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in the healthcare team at Alden Court Nursing, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support. This position involves a combination of clinical and administrative tasks that are essential for the smooth operation of the facility. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations, assisting healthcare providers during procedures, and managing patient records. Additionally, they will perform vital sign checks and ensure that medical instruments are properly sanitized and maintained. Ultimately, the Medical Assistant contributes to a positive patient experience and supports the overall mission of providing compassionate care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently a Senior in a High school co-op program.
  • Enrolled in a medical assistant training program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in long-term care or nursing facilities.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking medical histories and recording vital signs.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile environment.
  • Manage patient records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional manner.
