Why This Role?
As a Financial Care Counselor, you are the face of the hospital’s financial operations. You will manage the intersection of high-level finance and human-centric service. From assisting families during trauma arrivals to navigating complex insurance landscapes, your work ensures the hospital remains a sustainable pillar of the community.
What You Will Do
- Patient Advocacy & Registration: Accurately identify patients, update demographics, and ensure all insurance data is "clean" for the billing cycle.
- Financial Navigation: Educate patients on their financial responsibility, provide estimates, collect point-of-service payments, and assist with Financial Assistance/Medicaid applications.
- Emergency Dept. Specialist: Manage specialized workflows including Trauma arrivals and Decedent Care with professionalism and empathy.
- Revenue Cycle Integrity: Resolve claim edits and insurance mismatches in real-time to prevent billing denials.
- Patient Experience: Act as a "Service Excellence" ambassador, rounding in waiting rooms and ensuring patients feel heard and supported.
✅ Who You Are
- Educated & Experienced: * High School Diploma required (Associate’s in Accounting or Healthcare preferred).

- 2+ years of experience in hospital access/billing OR a Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of public-facing experience.
- Physically Resilient: You are comfortable being on your feet for long periods (up to 12 hours) to perform bedside registrations in the ED.
- Emotionally Intelligent: You can maintain a calm, professional demeanor while engaging with patients suffering from physical trauma or high stress.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Maestro Care/Epic is a significant plus
