Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for a School Psychologist position serving the Virginia Beach area. This role supports elementary students by providing psychological assessments and participating in key meetings such as Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD), re-evaluation, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) discussions. The position is ideal for candidates ranging from new graduates to experienced professionals, with assignments varying by school and caseload.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological evaluations for elementary-aged students
- Attend ARD, re-evaluation, and IEP meetings to collaborate with educators and families
- Develop and deliver services that support student learning and behavioral health
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and district protocols
- Manage caseload efficiently within school day hours (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM)
Qualifications:
- Valid State licensure as a School Psychologist
- Active Department of Education (DOE) certification
- Willingness to work on contract terms specific to this engagement (district contract generated upon placement)
- Open to candidates with 0 to 10+ years of experience, including new graduates
- Commitment to providing supportive and data-driven psychological services in an educational setting
Location: Virginia Beach, VA (Chesapeake Public Schools district area)
Contract Duration: Immediate start through June 16, 2026
Schedule: Flexible full-time or part-time options available based on candidate preference
This role is strictly on-site, with no hybrid or remote options. The caseload and school assignments will be determined based on the districts needs upon placement.
