Position Summary:
This role is vital to both the day-to-day operations and the long-term success of our business. Based in the Belgrade, Montana area, the Propane Delivery Driver I is responsible for the safe, efficient, and customer-focused delivery of bulk propane to an established customer base. The position also involves assisting with new tank installations, operating crane trucks, and performing light service work such as gas checks.
We are willing to train candidates in propane delivery; however, all required CDL endorsements must be obtained prior to hire. This is a hands-on position that requires motivation, adaptability, and the ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service during all deliveries and service calls.
- Safely operate bulk propane delivery trucks to serve residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
- Climb in and out of the truck multiple times per day and pull hoses up to 150 feet, sometimes in snowy or uneven terrain.
- Install and remove heavy-duty tire chains (approx. 60 lbs) during winter conditions when needed.
- Use MOGO routing software and support the Dispatch Coordinator with route development.
- Load and unload propane at the bulk plant.
- Assist with new tank installations and crane truck operations (training provided).
- Evacuate fuel from competitor tanks and return tanks as required.
- Prepare delivery tickets and complete documentation using company technology systems.
- Follow all company safety, security, and compliance procedures.
- Comply with federal, state, and local commercial vehicle regulations.
Education / Experience Requirement:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Class A CDL with endorsements:
- Hazmat
- Tanker
- Air Brakes
- No automatic restriction
- Bulk handling, bottle fill (PTI recognized courses), and TDG certification (training provided).
- Knowledge of the LPG/fuel industry preferred.
- Proficient with computers and office software.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively.
- Self-starter with attention to detail and a hands-on mentality.
Physical Requirements:
- Fit for duty and physically able to perform job tasks safely.
- Ability to lift 30+ lbs, pull hoses up to 150 feet, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Comfortable driving in winter road conditions and chaining up when required.
- Frequent climbing in and out of trucks and onto equipment.
