Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership & Staff Management

  • Assist the Director of Dining Services and Chef Manager in leading the dining services team.
  • Conduct staff meetings and create agendas and training materials as needed.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service while mentoring and coaching staff.
  • Interview, hire, and onboard new team members in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions and performance evaluations.
  • Train staff on departmental policies, procedures, and sanitation standards to ensure regulatory compliance.

Operations & Service Management

  • Oversee daily front-of-house operations (dining rooms, restaurants, grill, and bakery).
  • Monitor food preparation, quality, and presentation to meet high standards.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and respond to guest feedback or concerns.
  • Create and implement systems and processes to enhance front-of-house efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement in food quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Planning, Budgeting & Administration

  • Assist with planning and budgeting for meals and events alongside the Chef Manager and Director.
  • Complete administrative tasks, including reports, evaluations, forms, and billing.
  • Maintain accurate records for food production, inventory, financials, meal counts, and staffing.

Sanitation & Event Management

  • Ensure sanitation standards are upheld per internal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Lead planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of catering and special events.
  • Train and oversee catering staff to ensure smooth and successful events.

What You’ll Need:

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience as a supervisor or manager in a restaurant or long-term care dining services department
  • At least 5 years of overall food service experience; a combination of advanced education and relevant work experience will be considered
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 pounds without assistance
  • ServSafe and Allergen Certification, or a commitment to complete company-sponsored certification within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential

Desired Qualifications

  • Culinary experience in a hotel, fine dining restaurant, or country club setting
  • Catering experience
