Degree in Radiologic Technology, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Ultrasound certification, and minimum 1+ years Imaging experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialized opportunity is available for a skilled sonographer with advanced expertise in maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) ultrasound imaging. This contract role is based near Brockton, MA, offering the chance to apply comprehensive obstetric ultrasound skills in a high-acuity setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed obstetric ultrasounds, including first-trimester scans (NT and early anatomy), second- and third-trimester anatomy surveys, growth and biophysical profiles, cervical length measurements, multiple gestations, placental assessments including PAS, and Doppler studies of umbilical artery, MCA, and ductus venosus.
- Evaluate complex maternal and fetal conditions, identifying abnormal findings to assist in diagnosis.
- Support fetal therapy and invasive procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), and percutaneous umbilical blood sampling (PUBS/cordocentesis), collaborating closely with physicians who perform these interventions.
- Provide compassionate care to patients experiencing high-risk pregnancies, maintaining privacy, emotional sensitivity, and clear communication while explaining procedures within professional scope.
- Acquire high-quality diagnostic images, accurately complete measurements, and enter detailed exam data into EMR/PACS systems.
- Ensure all studies comply with accreditation standards from AIUM and ACR.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team including MFM physicians, radiologists, nurses, genetic counselors, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience performing MFM ultrasounds in a high-risk obstetric setting.
- Extensive knowledge of advanced obstetric ultrasound protocols and fetal assessments.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate measurement and documentation skills.
- Ability to provide empathetic patient care under emotionally sensitive circumstances.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
