Construction Project Manager – Public Infrastructure
Location: Onsite (Elizabeth, NJ)
Salary: $80,000 – $120,000 + Benefits
JL Recruitment is working with a leading name in public infrastructure delivery, is looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to take charge of key civil and infrastructure projects across New Jersey. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide complex builds from concept to completion — ensuring every milestone is met with precision, safety, and quality.
About the Role
As the Project Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind each project’s success — steering teams, subcontractors, and consultants toward seamless execution. From contract award to final handover, you’ll own the process and deliver results that exceed client expectations.
You will:
- Lead on-site operations, subcontractor coordination, and procurement activities.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, schedules, and change orders with accuracy and accountability.
- Track budgets, forecasts, and progress, producing clear reports for senior management.
- Anticipate and resolve technical or logistical challenges before they impact delivery.
- Foster collaborative relationships with clients, engineers, and field teams.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Provide day-to-day leadership that keeps the project moving — and the team motivated.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience managing construction or infrastructure projects, ideally in public works or utilities.
- A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong command of project budgeting, scheduling, and team coordination.
- Proficiency with MS Project, AutoCAD, Sage Timberline, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to lead confidently in a dynamic, on-site environment.
