East Coast Construction Services, LLC (ECCS) is a growing Southeastern U.S. industrial electrical contractor specializing in complex power distribution, instrumentation, and controls projects for pharmaceuticals, water treatment, biofuels, textiles, and food-grade manufacturing. Projects range from $500K to $20M with a strong focus on safety, quality, and innovative automation solutions.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Journeyman Electrician who has successfully led small crews (2–6 members) on industrial projects. This hands-on supervisory role combines advanced installation/troubleshooting skills with direct field leadership, mentoring apprentices, enforcing safety, and delivering high-quality electrical and control system work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct small electrical crews to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant installations
- Install, terminate, troubleshoot, and commission wiring, conduit, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial control panels
- Integrate and calibrate sensors, transmitters, relays, actuators, and instrumentation loops
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, loop diagrams, and P&IDs
- Perform lockout/tagout, job safety analyses, and strict compliance with NEC (2023), OSHA, and site safety standards
- Troubleshoot and repair low- to medium-voltage power and automated control systems
- Mentor and train apprentices/helpers while maintaining high workmanship standards
- Document work, inspections, testing, and as-builts using Procore, Excel, or similar tools
- Coordinate with other trades, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial electrical construction or maintenance experience
- 2+ years leading or directing small crews in industrial settings
- Strong hands-on experience with industrial control systems including:

- PLC installation, programming basics, and troubleshooting
- VFD setup, parameter configuration, and drive commissioning
- Motor controls, soft starters, and process instrumentation
- Sensors, transmitters, control valves, and instrumentation calibration/loop checking
- Thorough knowledge of NEC (2023), OSHA 1910/1926, and lockout/tagout procedures
- Ability to read and interpret complex industrial electrical and instrumentation drawings
- Valid NC Driver’s License (required)
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Basic computer skills (Excel/Google Sheets); Procore experience a plus
- Willingness to travel within the Southeast as needed
