Job DescriptionLogistics Coordinator (Bilingual Korean/English)
Location: Santa Ana, CA 92707Schedule: Monday-Friday - 8:30 am-5:30 pmPay rate: $26-$32/hr
Duties:
- Proactively identify risks associated with contract conclusion and business execution, and develop contingency plans to mitigate those risks.
- Monitor the end-to-end delivery process, primarily for ocean shipments through to final destinations, ensuring timely execution and minimal disruption.
- Resolve operational issues by maintaining strong working relationships with shipping lines, rail carriers, drayage/trucking companies, and port terminals, securing competitive transportation resources and rates.
- Create and maintain simple tools to track regular shipment status and communicate updates to upper management, customers, and headquarters.
- Analyze logistics data to identify bottlenecks or delays, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement timely resolutions.
- Generate and distribute delivery status reports to customers, ensuring visibility and transparency throughout the supply chain.
- Report monthly on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to drayage operations to evaluate performance and identify improvement areas.
- Investigate logistics costs across regions or facilities and develop cost-saving initiatives, including innovation projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.
- Identify ongoing operational issues across warehouses and inland transportation, and establish appropriate solutions along with inspection standards.
- Build communication frameworks and conduct regular meetings with carriers, steamship lines, customers, and internal departments to align on expectations and performance.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting as requested to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Bilingual in Korean and English (required) – must be able to communicate effectively in both languages, written and verbal.
- Proven experience in route planning and optimization, including multimodal and intermodal transport setups.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement transport plans that maximize loading efficiency, minimize transit time, and reduce overall logistics costs.
- Experience in designing and managing logistics processes across various functions, including warehouse operations and local transportation, with clearly defined operating procedures and guidelines.
- Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills; able to manage urgent issues without compromising ongoing responsibilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Word.
