We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong HVAC and plumbing design experience to join a growing team in Washington, DC. This is a leadership-level opportunity where you will play a key role in project execution, team mentorship, and client engagement.

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys owning projects, leading design decisions, and mentoring junior staff while working on a diverse portfolio including multi-family, commercial, and government projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC and plumbing system design for complex projects
• Develop basis of design, system layouts, and engineering calculations
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers
• Coordinate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams
• Represent the mechanical discipline in client meetings
• Review submittals and respond to RFIs during construction phases
• Ensure quality control and adherence to engineering standards
• Support continuous improvement of design processes and standards

Qualifications

• 8+ years of HVAC and/or plumbing design experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Strong experience with Revit and Microsoft Office
• Experience with Trane Trace (load calculations) preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to manage projects and work in a collaborative environment
