The Estimator will be responsible for setting-up project estimates, identifying material quantities, pricing the identified quantities, and soliciting subcontractor & material vendors as needed to assemble complete project estimates.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set-up Project Estimate
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications
- Perform quantity take-offs and summations of materials
- Solicit trade partners, receive trade partner quotes and review for accuracy
- Perform construction alternatives take-offs and pricing (if required)
- Apply knowledge of project scheduling to project estimates
- Participate in estimate review meetings
- Update cost estimates based upon Owner/Architect/Project Manager reviews
- Maintain knowledge of current market pricing, including materials, labor and equipment
- Support fellow estimators and preconstruction staff in gathering information that may affect the project including developing project specific scopes of work
- Solicit new trade partners when needed, add their information to the HCC subcontractor database
- Attend a hand-off meeting with project manager, superintendent, and field engineer (if applicable) to share information related to the estimate (special conditions)
- At job close-out, archive project specific information for use on future bids/estimates
- Attend Pre-Bid Meetings (if applicable)
- Participate in Project Interview process (if applicable)
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in construction Estimating, Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent field experience is preferred.

- Proficient in applicable computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project), On-Screen Takeoff, and Bluebeam/PDF editor.
