Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner Locum Opportunity
An acute care hospital is seeking experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioners for temporary coverage beginning July 2026. This opportunity is ideal for providers who can quickly integrate into a busy emergency department and manage lower-acuity emergency cases in a collaborative environment.
Compensation: Hourly: $125/hr, Overtime: $125/hr, Holiday: $175/hr.
Assignment Details
Start Date: July 2026
Coverage Need: FMLA coverage through approximately October 1, 2026
Multiple positions available
Schedule
Full-time preferred
Ideal schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts per week
Open to:
3 x 10-hour shifts per week
Minimum 2 x 10-hour shifts per week
3 x 8-hour shifts for 2 weeks per month may be considered
Preferred shift: 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Coverage needed seven days per week
Practice Setting
Hospital Emergency Department
Level III hospital
Shared-visit model with attending physicians
Epic EMR
Patient Population
Adult patients only
Patient Volume
Approximately 15–20 patients per shift
Average of 1.5 patients per hour
Clinical Responsibilities
Evaluate and treat lower-acuity emergency medicine patients
Manage common "bread and butter" emergency medicine presentations
Work collaboratively alongside attending physicians
Participate in a shared-visit care model
Function independently while integrating with an established emergency department team
Requirements
Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner
Active Massachusetts License
BLS Certification
DEA Registration
Epic experience
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience
Credentialing
Emergency privileges available
Estimated credentialing timeframe: 30–60 days
