Job Description
Licensed design professional with diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices. Has responsibility for finished plans, specifications, and material approvals for small to mid-sized projects. May supervise small staff of architects and technicians.
Education and Experience:
- 8+ years of experience with accreditation
- Licensed architect with NAAB accredited degree preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicates directly to mid or senior level designers and/or project managers
- Develop architectural solutions for small projects and, under the direction of a senior level designer, mid-sized projects using sound and diverse knowledge of architectural principles.
- Perform project programming and analysis
- Perform site survey and documentation
- Produce visual aids such as presentation boards
- Coordinate effectively with all engineering and special consultants
- Works independently following traditional architectural methods
- Stay up to date on research and application of current/new product information and details for project type
- Take direction and provide team leadership to others in the production of quality construction documents and specifications
- Perform construction administration
- Mentor entry level and Architect I in overall project objectives and policy matters
Competencies:
- Proficient verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
- Proficient understanding of IBC, accessibility and local zoning codes
- Proficient hand drawing, drafting, and proper graphic representation skills
- Proficient knowledge of architectural building systems
- Proficient knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines
- Ability to build physical models
- Ability to accept constructive criticism and make adjustments in day-to-day work practice
- Work effectively on a team
Skills and Software:
- Revit
- SketchUp
- Adobe CS, and other graphic-communication software
- MS Office
- NewForma
- Bluebeam and other project management software
