Cost Estimator
**Future Opportunity**
CSEngineering is seeking a Cost Estimator to join our growing team! This role will support analytical and financial modeling efforts used to evaluate program costs, risks, and economic impacts for complex technical and IT-related initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in cost analysis, economic modeling, and financial evaluation to support data-driven decision making and program planning.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Cost Estimator will apply modeling techniques to analyze complex problems involving input, output, and logical process flow. The role supports the development and maintenance of analytical models used to evaluate program costs, risks, and operational impacts.
- The Cost Estimator will develop and implement cost models that may incorporate simulation techniques to support planning, budgeting, and decision-making activities. Responsibilities include evaluating program requirements, collecting cost data, and translating technical and operational inputs into analytical models.
- The Cost Estimator will conduct economic analyses, including cost-benefit evaluations and risk assessments, to support program planning and investment decisions. The role requires monitoring the mathematical and programming aspects of modeling tools to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project objectives.
- The Cost Estimator will perform financial analyses using established cost analysis principles, statistical methods, and cost-accounting techniques. These analyses may include evaluation of uncertainty, financial forecasting, and identification of cost drivers within complex programs.
- The Cost Estimator will prepare analytical reports, documentation, and recommendations to support project stakeholders and program leadership. The role requires maintaining accurate records of model assumptions, methodologies, and analytical results.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Security Clearance: IT-II security OR NACLC
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in cost analysis, cost estimation, or financial modeling.
- Expert knowledge of cost analysis principles, theories, procedures, and techniques.
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts such as standard deviation, confidence limits, and expected value.
- Knowledge of financial analysis concepts including present value analysis, return on investment (ROI), discounting, and inflation.
- Experience with cost accounting concepts including depreciation, amortization, overhead identification, and cost distribution.
- Working knowledge of cost modeling methodologies and analytical modeling tools.
- Ability to develop analytical models and simulations used to support cost estimation and economic evaluation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) at the time of proposal submission.
Location: Washington, DC (NCR) with potential travel to other government sites as required.
