\nNO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)
\nContract Length: 13 weeks
\nStart: 6/16 or 6/30- Bi-weekly orientation
\nGuaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)
\n*OT will go into effect after 52hrs on 48hr contracts
\nPrimary location: Midtown
\nShift Requirement: 12hr Days 6:30-7
\nFloat Requirement: First to float within skillset. Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
\nOn Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A
\nWeekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.
\nRequired Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.\n\nMinimum Experience REQUIRED: Three years as RN, one full year ortho/neuro/trauma, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.
\nCharting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)
\nPatient Population: Trauma, Ortho (broken hip/femur), Neuro (scheduled neck and back, spine/rib fx).
\nSkillset:
\nREQUIRED: Strong neuro assessment, log rolling patients, applying assistice devices (back brace, immobilizer), Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers are required to pass a tele test **STEPDOWN EXP ONLY), PIV insertion.
\nPREFERRED: Chest tube/indwelling drain management, drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, PEGs/NGs, Buck’s traction, pin site care, On-Q management, CIWA/BH, wounds (packing, wound vacs). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates\n\nUnit Information: 44 beds. Ratio: Days 1:3-5; NOCs 1:4-7; CN takes patients on nights, but rarely on days.
\nUnit Strengths: Staff and leadership treat travelers as their own. Manager has been on the unit since 2017.
