Job Title: Order Selector / Forklift Operator
Job Description
This role combines order selection, forklift operation, and general warehouse support in a clean, modern facility. You will safely operate forklifts and ride-along pallet jacks to move, pick, and stage products, while also handling material movement, packing, loading, and unloading tasks as needed across the warehouse and manufacturing floors.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to retrieve, move, and stage product, including lifting product stored up to 2–3 floors high.
- Use a ride-along pallet jack to select and move orders throughout the warehouse.
- Perform order selection by picking and selecting products accurately according to manifests, work orders, and other documentation.
- Handle material movement by transporting raw materials and finished goods across the manufacturing and warehouse floors.
- Load and unload trailers and other freight vehicles in a safe and timely manner.
- Pack screws, bolts, fasteners, and other items according to specified packing procedures and quality standards.
- Use RF scanners or similar scan gun devices to support inventory control, order processing, and material tracking when required.
- Wrap pallets securely to ensure loads are stable and safe for transport and storage.
- Lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily warehouse operations.
- Follow all safety practices and procedures when operating forklifts and other equipment, especially in close quarters.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the warehouse and manufacturing spaces.
- Support additional warehouse tasks as needed, including general material handling, inventory-related activities, and other duties assigned by supervision.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of forklift operating experience within the past 2 years.
- Proven experience operating a forklift in close quarters and tight spaces.
- At least 1 year of experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to operate a ride-along pallet jack safely and effectively.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to forklift operation and warehouse work.
- Experience with loading and unloading freight, including trailers.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Consistent and reliable attendance record with previous employers.
- Ability to follow work orders, manifests, and written instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail when picking, packing, and verifying product.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using RF scanners or scan guns for inventory and order processing is a plus.
- Experience working from manifests, work orders, and similar documentation is beneficial.
- Background in packing small components such as screws, bolts, and fasteners is an advantage.
- Experience with wrapping and securing pallets for storage and shipment is helpful.
- General warehouse skills including selecting, packing, wrapping, loading, unloading, and material handling.
- Ability to adapt to a mix of equipment operation and manual warehouse tasks throughout the shift.

Work Environment
You will operate a forklift approximately 40–60% of the time and spend the remaining 40–60% on other tasks such as picking, packing, loading, wrapping, unloading, and general material handling. Work involves operating forklifts and ride-along pallet jacks in close quarters, moving raw materials and finished goods across the warehouse and manufacturing floors, and using equipment such as RF scanners when needed. The environment is safety-focused, with an expectation of consistent attendance and adherence to established safety practices. Work is physically active, including regular lifting of up to 50 pounds and handling pallets and freight throughout the shift. Dress is typical for a warehouse setting, suitable for operating industrial equipment and performing manual material handling tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
