An opportunity is available for a skilled RN with ICU experience to provide critical care during night shifts at a reputable acute care facility in OFallon, IL. This role involves working autonomously in a small 6-bed ICU, delivering 1:1 to 1:2 patient care ratios with support from an intensivist via Tele-ICU consultation. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing in a 6-bed adult ICU, maintaining a 1:1-1:2 patient ratio
- Collaborate with a Tele-ICU intensivist to manage complex patient needs
- Float within scope to Medical Cardiology or Med/Surg units as needed
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and protocols
- Serve as relief charge nurse when required, demonstrating leadership and self-motivation
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience beyond orientation; first-timers considered
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required
- Ability to work night shiftsthree 12-hour shifts per week (18:45 - 07:15) with every other weekend required
- Strong critical thinking, autonomy, and adaptability in patient care
Schedule/Hours
- Night shifts: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
- Guaranteed 36 hours/week during a 3- to 12-week contract
- Weekend coverage every other weekend
