We are seeking aPrincipal Financial Analyst who wants to use their knowledge to help grow our newly publicly traded business -Shoulder Innovations (NYSE: SI). Our Ideal candidate will bring a blend of corporate financial analysis, revenue analytics, and forecasting.
As aPrincipal Financial Analyst, some of your job duties will include:
- Revenue Analytics and Forecasting
- Develop and maintain dynamic revenue forecasting models based on procedure volumes, product mix, surgeon utilization, and pricing strategy
- Analyze and report on key revenue drivers, including customer adoption trends, sales performance, and distribution channel activity
- Track and explain variances between actual and forecast; proactively identify risks and opportunities
- Collaborate with Commercial and Sales Operations teams to align financial forecasts with field intelligence and market dynamics
- Provide forward-looking analysis and scenario modeling to support strategic planning and long-range growth objectives
- Pricing Administration
- Contribute to building a centralized, efficient contracting approach for Distributor accounts
- Maintain a comprehensive repository of Distributor contracts; track expiration dates and assist in renewals or amendments
- Partner with leadership in drafting, reviewing (redlining), and securing necessary contract approvals
- Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of Distributor information across internal systems
- Other Financial Analysis
- Support company-wide budgeting and forecasting cycles, including operating expense planning and departmental support
- Perform ad hoc analysis and financial modeling to evaluate business initiatives, product launches, or capital investments
- Assist in monthly and quarterly close processes, including variance analysis and reporting packages
To be successful as a Principal Financial Analyst, you should have the following experiences and skills:
- Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline required
- MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred
- 7+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with a strong preference for backgrounds in the medical device, healthcare, or life sciences industries.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition, especially as it applies to medical devices and procedure-based sales models
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial planning systems such as Adaptive Insights, NetSuite, or similar tools
- High proficiency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and executive-ready reporting
- Excellent communication skills; ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable business insights
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
