Job Summary:The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth and efficient operations of the practice, contributing to client's mission of providing extraordinary care. In addition to performing medical assisting duties, this role includes administrative responsibilities such as greeting patients, checking them in, and scheduling appointments. The Medical Assistant will assist patients with physical and psychological limitations and contribute to the overall patient care experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Greet and check-in patients in a courteous, helpful manner, ensuring a positive experience both in person and over the phone.
- Medical Assisting Duties: Perform tasks such as taking vital signs, measuring height and weight, conducting EKGs, and assisting during routine medical procedures.
- Phlebotomy: Perform blood draws as needed and assist with specimen collection.
- Point-of-Care Testing: Conduct lab tests and other diagnostic procedures, ensuring quality control standards are met for accurate results.
- Patient Care: Assist patients with ambulation and other activities of daily living as necessary, while maintaining a compassionate approach.
- Administrative Support: Handle scheduling, patient documentation, and coordination of patient care.
- Test Instructions: Provide patients with relevant instructions for specific tests and procedures.
- Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control standards for testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Orientation and Training: Participate in weekly orientation (every Monday, barring a holiday) to stay updated on clinic operations and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Certification: Must have a current Medical Assistant (MA) certification.
- Vaccination Requirements: COVID-19 vaccination, including the booster, and flu vaccination are required (medical exemptions may be accepted).
- Experience: Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Travelers: Travelers who have worked for Client as a permanent or per diem employee within the last year will not be considered. A separation period of at least one year is required.
Education: High School
