Position Title: Pediatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 20 Weeks
Schedule:
- 40 Hours per Week (80 Hours Biweekly)
- Mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Some holidays required
Compensation:
- Local: Up to $27/hour (based on experience)
- Travel: Up to $31/hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join a Pediatric Float Pool team. This role involves providing both direct and indirect patient care to pediatric patients while supporting clinical staff in maintaining a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate is flexible, attentive, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, feeding, toileting, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Accurately obtain and record vital signs and patient information
- Monitor pediatric patients and promptly report changes in condition to nursing staff
- Serve as a safety companion for at-risk patients
- Promote patient comfort, safety, and overall well-being
- Apply knowledge of pediatric growth and development in patient care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment
- Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Assist with patient mobility, positioning, and transfers
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely communication of patient information
- Build positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare staff
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing training programs
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Minimum 1 year of patient care experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing ADLs
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma hospital setting (required)
- Experience as a safety companion (highly preferred)
- Knowledge of pediatric care, growth, and development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to adapt to changing clinical environments
- Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and ethical practice
