Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Technologist with at least five years of experience working within Esri platforms and geodatabases. The ideal candidate will possess strong software development skills in C# and/or Python, Angular and/or other Javascript based web frameworks. They will have expertise in applying GIS technology to statistical and financial analysis with a basic understanding of data science and regression analysis.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive demographic, transportation network analysis, and other geospatial analysis, and using Esri data for CRE investment team
- Utilize Esri software to analyze population trends, economic data, and geographic patterns relevant to CRE investments
- Develop high-quality spatial visualizations and reports to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders
- Create tools (code libraries, APIs, and Web Apps) that provide simplified workflows for software engineering, quantitative research, and investment teams
- Maintain and optimize geodatabases to ensure data integrity and accessibility for ongoing analyses
- Work in a dynamic and collaborative environment located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience and at least 3 years working with Esri GIS software and geodatabases
- Proficiency in programming languages, including C#, Python, and/or Angular
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on statistics and financial data integration
- Experience working with spatial data processing, visualization, and geospatial analysis
- Knowledge of data science methodologies and their application to GIS
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with cloud-based GIS platforms and APIs
- Familiarity with machine learning applications in GIS analysis
- Familiarity with distributed compute frameworks like Spark
- Experience with big data set efficient storage, management, and processing
