Job DescriptionRole Summary

Our client, a large integrated healthcare system, is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to lead nursing operations, quality initiatives, and clinical strategy within the Internal Medicine service line. This leadership role is responsible for aligning nursing practices with organizational goals, driving patient care excellence, and supporting staff development. The position serves as a key link between executive leadership and frontline clinical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead nursing operations and strategic initiatives within the Internal Medicine service line
  • Oversee nursing performance and clinical outcomes, partnering closely with senior executive leadership
  • Implement standardized, evidence-based practices to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Drive quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
  • Manage departmental operations including staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and budget oversight
  • Serve as a mentor and educator to nursing staff, supporting professional development and training programs
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff and executive leadership to support communication and operational alignment

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
  • Education & Experience (one of the following):
    • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) with at least 5 years of experience, including 3 years in a supervisory or teaching role
    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) with at least 6 years of experience, including 4 years in a supervisory or teaching role
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical setting
  • Strong organizational, communication, and team leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior leadership experience within Internal Medicine
  • Experience leading quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Compensation & Work Model

  • Salary: $150,000 annually
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Work Model: Onsite
