Job Title: Part‐Time Bookkeeper (In‐Office)

Company Overview
We are a multifaceted, tight‐knit firm with active business units in Real Estate Development, General Contracting, and Property Management.

Position Summary
The Bookkeeper will handle day‐to‐day accounting tasks for all business units. This role is in‐office three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). During an initial training period, full‐time availability is required to ensure a thorough hand‐off of processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform timely and accurate bank and loan reconciliations
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Manage PO’s for active construction projects.
  • Process subcontractor payments and track lien waivers
  • Maintain the general ledger in QuickBooks Desktop and prepare month‐end reports
  • Coordinate with project managers and property managers to capture all job costs and rental activity
  • Serve as in‐house Notary for documents requiring notarization
  • Receive mail and maintain organized digital filing systems for invoices, contracts, Etc.,
  • Issue 1099s

Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of bookkeeping experience in a construction, real estate, or related environment
  • Advanced QuickBooks Desktop skills (certification strongly preferred)
  • Proven track record with bank and loan reconciliations
  • Solid understanding of A/P, A/R, and general ledger principles
  • Experience processing subcontractor disbursements and lien waivers
  • Current Notary Public commission or ability to obtain one promptly
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with document management best practices
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and comfort working in a fast‐paced office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Buildium property management software
  • Familiarity with job‐cost accounting for development and construction projects
  • Prior work in a multi‐entity or multi‐department environment

Schedule and Work Environment

  • Regular schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (flexible start and end within business hours)
  • Training period: Full‐time, Monday through Friday, for approximately four to six weeks
  • Office located in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, NY.
