Job DescriptionJob Title: Hospital Coder (Remote – Hawaii)
Pay: $35/hour
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Location: Remote (Must reside in Hawaii)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Overview:
LHH is seeking a meticulous and credentialed Hospital Coder to support accurate coding and data abstraction for hospital encounters. This remote role is open to candidates located anywhere in Hawaii and offers the opportunity to transition to a permanent position.

Responsibilities:

  • Review medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures.

  • Assign codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II.

  • Select DRGs for inpatient cases and resolve discrepancies.

  • Ensure compliance with CMS, JCAHO, and other regulatory standards.

  • Communicate with physicians to clarify documentation.

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold coding ethics.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Coding Associate (CCA) required.

  • Eligibility for CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification.

  • Completion of coursework in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD-10, and CPT.

  • Minimum 2 years of hospital coding experience within the last 5 years.

  • Ability to meet productivity and quality standards.

  • Basic PC skills; Excel proficiency preferred.

  • Must pass a coding test with a minimum score of 75%.

  • Maintain 10 CE units annually and current coding credentials.



Pay Details: $35.00 per hour
