PURPOSE:
The School of Business at Lincoln University invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Accounting position beginning August 10, 2026. We are an ACBSP-accredited institution committed to excellence in teaching and student success. This full-time, non-tenure track role is designed for a dedicated educator or seasoned practitioner looking to transition into academia with a focus on foundational accounting instruction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Instruction (Full Load): Teach four (4) undergraduate courses per semester (4/4 load). Primary teaching areas include lower-division courses:
- Principles of Financial Accounting,
- Managerial Accounting,
- Cost Accounting.
- Student Support: Maintain regular on-campus office hours to provide high-quality instructional support to students.
- Strategic Advising: Provide academic and career advising to a dedicated cohort of approximately 25 students.
- Professionalism: Participate in departmental activities directly related to curriculum delivery and ACBSP accreditation standards.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Occasional additional duties may be needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
- A commitment to the mission of an ACBSP-accredited teaching institution.
- Significant professional experience in corporate or public accounting is preferred.
- Experience teaching lower-division accounting foundation courses is preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Master's degree in accounting (MAcc) or an MBA with an Accounting concentration.
- Active CPA license (preferred) or other relevant professional certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
