A critical care registered nurse position is available in Fishers, IN at a well-established healthcare facility specializing in cardiac and step-down care. This role focuses on delivering expert nursing care on a 16-bed step-down unit staffed with a 1:2 patient ratio, ensuring personalized attention for patients recovering from critical conditions. The unit utilizes advanced equipment including ventilators and titratable drips, supporting a dynamic work environment where clinical skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiac and step-down patients.
  • Manage ventilator support and titratable drips with confidence and precision.
  • Utilize Epic EMR system for accurate patient documentation.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Adhere to unit policies including dress code requirements and infection control protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Active RN license.
  • Minimum of 2 years in critical care nursing.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • Experience managing ventilators and titratable vasoactive drips is essential.
  • Preferred experience in ICU settings.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to integrate within a multi-disciplinary team.

Schedule & Assignment Details

  • Evening shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am.
  • Every other weekend coverage (Friday/Saturday nights).
  • 36 guaranteed hours weekly.
  • No on-call duties; holidays as scheduled.
  • Contract position with opportunities for step-down and critical care float assignments.

Equipment for medication and sharps storage will be provided. Navy scrubs are the standard attire for this unit, and sweatshirts or hoodies are not permitted.
