Role Summary
Stripez Site Management is a fast-growing commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance company serving the Des Moines metro. We specialize in delivering high-quality, reliable service to commercial properties including office parks, healthcare facilities, and retail centers.
We’re looking for a Lawncare Crew Leader who takes pride in quality work, leads by example, and can keep a crew running efficiently day in and day out.
As a Lawncare Crew Leader, you will be responsible for managing a daily route of commercial properties, ensuring top-tier quality, maintaining equipment, and leading your crew to perform at a high level. This is a hands-on leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Lead and work alongside a crew of 1–2 team members performing commercial mowing and grounds maintenance.
- Ensure properties are serviced efficiently, safely, and according to company quality standards.
- Train, motivate, and hold crew members accountable for workmanship and productivity.
- Operate commercial mowing and maintenance equipment, including zero-turn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and utility vehicles.
- Load, transport, and maintain equipment and trailers.
- Review daily routes and ensure all work is completed on schedule.
- Identify and communicate site issues, repair needs, and opportunities for additional services.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, labor hours, and equipment inspections.
- Interact professionally with customers, property managers, and fellow team members.
- Promote a safe work environment and enforce company safety procedures.
Preferred Experience:
- Commercial grounds maintenance.
- Leading crews and training employees.
- Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Operating skid loaders or compact equipment.
- Snow removal equipment operation (seasonal work opportunities available).
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. (required)
- Previous experience in commercial lawn maintenance or landscaping. (required)
- Prior leadership or crew management experience preferred.
- Ability to operate commercial mowing equipment and tow trailers safely.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read site maps and understand property specifications.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Able to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
