Job Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for delivering comprehensive respiratory care in an acute care setting. This role includes administering therapies, monitoring patient response, and supporting physicians in critical care procedures.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required (including holidays based on schedule)
• Acute care hospital setting
• No block scheduling or fixed schedule accommodations

Key Responsibilities

• Administer aerosol and positive pressure therapies
• Initiate and monitor oxygen therapy
• Assist physicians with mechanical ventilation and airway management
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Conduct pulmonary function testing
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection via radial puncture
• Monitor patient response and adjust treatments accordingly
• Deliver patient care independently with minimal supervision

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy (A.A.S.)
• Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license/registration
• Minimum 2 years of acute care clinical experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to pass pre-employment health clearance
