VocoVision is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher specializing in autism support to join our virtual education team serving students in the Detroit area. We provide innovative remote special education services that bridge geographic barriers while delivering high-quality specialized instruction.
Position Details

• Full-time position (37.5 hours per week)
• Elementary and middle school students (K-8)
• Focus on supporting students with autism spectrum disorders
• Caseload of approximately 35-45 students
• Collaboration with onsite paraprofessionals who implement hands-on activities
• Virtual instruction combined with consultation for classroom adaptations

Core Responsibilities

• Design and implement specialized instruction for students with autism
• Develop visual supports and structured learning activities for virtual delivery
• Create and monitor IEP goals appropriate for students with autism
• Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and behavior specialists
• Provide guidance to classroom staff on implementing strategies
• Conduct regular progress monitoring and data collection
• Facilitate social skills development in a virtual environment
• Support positive behavior intervention strategies

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education
• Active Michigan special education teacher licensure
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with students with autism
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices for autism intervention
• Experience with structured teaching methodologies
• Proficiency with educational technology and virtual platforms
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to build rapport with students in a virtual setting
