Craftsmen Contractors is hiring Electricians (Journeyman & Master included), Electrical Technicians, Electrical Apprentices and Electrical Helpers for the Minden, La. area. Some experience or some relevant coursework in these areas is required.

This is for a manufacturing facility. These are temp to permanent positions and you will need to do a face to face interview. You will also need to pass a criminal background check and pass a pre-employment drug screen prior to starting. The schedule is from Monday thru Friday working day shifts and will need to work an occasional Saturday.

Pay is $16.50 - $31/hr. depending on experience. No per diem is offered.

Electrician Job Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Install complex conduit configurations per blueprint specification using appropriate tools.
• Mount electrical boxes, fixtures, and enclosures.
• Stock and set up electrical wire carts.
• Pull wire through conduit and makes ground connections.
• Install wire for complex configurations.
• Install and cover receptacles and switches.
• Properly perform wiring insulation resistance, continuity, and point-to-point terminations checks.
• Perform operational checks.
• Keep inventory of parts in the area.

Electrician Job Requirements:

• Prior electrical experience or relevant coursework is required for those who are willing to pursue a career in the electrical field.
• Demonstrate basic math skills.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Read blueprints.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Demonstrate ability to perform multiple or semi-complex tasks with limited exercise of judgment.
• Trained and proficient in the National Electrical Code.
• Required to wear personal protective gear, such as protective eyewear and steel-toed boots.
• Required to work for extended periods of time in a standing position while installing equipment.
• Ability to work from a ladder.
• Required to work in confined spaces while installing equipment.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Required clarity of vision, with or without corrective lenses, for accuracy in installing components.
• Possess a high degree of attention to detail.
• Required to work around hazardous conditions sometimes which include extreme noise levels and electrical, automatic, and/or moving equipment.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

All candidates will need to pass a criminal background check and drug screen. You will need to do a face to face interview before being hired.
