Job Title: Technologist – Scientific Operations
Location: Sparks, Maryland, United States
Shift: B Shift (Overnight) – Monday through Thursday, 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM
Pay Rate: $22.60/hour (includes shift differential)
Job Summary
The Technologist – Scientific Operations is responsible for supporting manufacturing and laboratory-based production of clinical and commercial products. This role involves operating production equipment, preparing solutions and raw materials, performing in-process testing, and ensuring all manufacturing activities meet established quality and safety standards. The position requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and strict compliance with company safety, environmental, and housekeeping procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble clinical and commercial products in a controlled laboratory environment
- Operate production and laboratory equipment safely and effectively
- Weigh, measure, and verify raw materials to ensure accurate batch formulation
- Prepare solutions, powders, and liquid mixtures according to batch specifications
- Conduct in-process testing to confirm product quality and compliance standards
- Support validation of filtration, cleaning, and sterilization processes and equipment
- Handle, remove, and dispose of chemical waste, solvents, and acids in accordance with safety protocols
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to scientific and manufacturing operations
- Provide support for onboarding, training, and new procedural implementation
- Assist supervisors and leads with operational needs as required
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
- Follow all GMP, safety, and housekeeping policies and procedures
- Work overtime as needed to meet production and business requirements
Minimum Education & Experience
- High school diploma with technical certification in laboratory operations plus 3 years lab experience, OR
- Associate degree in a scientific discipline with 2–3 years lab experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with 1–2 years lab experience
- Minimum of 1 year hands-on laboratory or scientific operations experience required (must be clearly shown on resume)

- Experience in solution preparation or laboratory manufacturing environments
- Background in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device manufacturing preferred
- Familiarity with production documentation and batch records
