Ancon is a contracting and staffing firm that provides support to government agencies across the country.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Travel Specialist to support senior government executives at a federal agency located in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience coordinating complex domestic and international travel for executive-level personnel and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal travel regulations and agency policies.
Requirements:
Location: Washington, DC (Onsite, Federal Facility)

Clearance: Public Trust (or ability to obtain)
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, arrange, and coordinate travel logistics for senior executives, including transportation, lodging, itineraries, and authorizations.
- Prepare and process travel authorizations, vouchers, and reimbursements using federal travel systems (e.g., ConcurGov or E2 Solutions).
- Ensure compliance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and agency-specific travel guidelines.
- Coordinate with executive assistants, agency leadership, and external offices to align travel with operational needs and priorities.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on government travel regulations and guide staff and executives as needed.
- Resolve travel issues or conflicts, including last-minute changes or emergency accommodations.
- Maintain detailed records of all travel-related expenses and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
- Support special assignments related to executive logistics and event coordination, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 4+ years of experience coordinating travel for federal government or executive-level personnel
- Familiarity with government travel regulations and systems (e.g., FTR, ConcurGov, DTS, E2)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC, with flexibility for occasional early or extended hours as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting senior officials at a federal agency
- Active Public Trust clearance or recent background investigation
- Knowledge of per diem rates, allowable expenses, and federal travel card management
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, professional federal office environment
- Role requires direct interaction with senior leadership and external partners
- This is an onsite position; remote or hybrid work is not available
Pay: $55,000 to $65,000 per year
