Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available to support elementary students in grades K through 2. This contract role runs for the full school year, focusing on delivering tailored instruction to a class of eight students with moderate and diverse special needs. Collaboration with paraprofessionals is integral to ensuring each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement a multi-grade curriculum designed for early elementary students.
- Manage a classroom of approximately eight students with varying moderate special needs.
- Utilize experience in IEP development and data collection to monitor and report on student progress.
- Coordinate with paraprofessionals to provide comprehensive support and interventions.
- Participate in professional development during new teacher orientation and staff opening days.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification.
- Experience working with early elementary students (K2).
- Strong ability to handle a classroom with a range of moderate special needs.
- Proven skills in creating, implementing, and tracking IEPs.
- Effective data collection and analysis capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with support staff and school personnel.
Schedule and Location:
- Monday through Friday, 8:20 AM to 3:20 PM.
- Position located in Beverly, New Jersey elementary school.
- Orientation dates: August 2627; staff opening day September 2; official start September 1.
