Supported by a strong Manager, staff tax accountants, and junior resources, this person will have the tools and personnel to succeed. You will also have the chance to partner closely with finance leadership, work alongside outside advisors and tax counsel, and help reduce external reliance by strengthening internal processes and controls as the Corporate Tax Director builds a scalable tax engine.

Weekends can be spent exploring iconic outdoor escapes, food scenes, and cultural events, while weekdays offer access to a deep professional network across finance, technology, and investment communities that may help your career grow quickly. With top-tier education options, diverse neighborhoods, and year-round activities, the region is a compelling place to plant roots while advancing.
Primary Responsibilities
The Director of Corporate Tax role owns tax compliance end-to-end while strengthening the function through leadership, process design, and cross-functional partnership.
- Lead federal, state, and local tax compliance across funds, GP entities, SPVs, and management company structures, ensuring filings are timely, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Manage a high-volume annual filing cycle including K-1s, partnership and corporate returns, information reporting, and withholding, while establishing repeatable standards.
- Oversee external tax providers, review workpapers, and maintain clear timelines that support quality execution without last-minute pressure.
- Maintain tax books and records across entities, including GP carry allocations and distribution-related support, providing visibility into risk and planning opportunities.
- Own foreign investor compliance processes, including W-8 documentation review, FATCA-aligned tracking, and required reporting as structures evolve.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax estimates and deliver clear, plain-English summaries for finance leadership and non-tax stakeholders.
- Assess tax implications of distributions, capital activity, and portfolio events, partnering with tax counsel on structuring questions and judgment calls.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation and AI-enabled tools, stronger controls, and improved documentation and workflow visibility.
- Coach and develop tax talent by setting competencies, reviewing work product, and creating a calm, high-clarity operating cadence during peak periods.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
This path is well suited for a technically strong Tax leader seeking ownership, visibility, and a mandate to modernize and lead a complex tax function.
- 7+ years of progressive tax experience, with deep partnership tax exposure and comfort navigating complex, multi-entity structures.
- Career progression from Tax Accountant to Tax Manager or Corporate Tax Manager, with readiness for director-level accountability and scope.
- CPA strongly preferred, or Masters in Tax, paired with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to senior leaders.
- Experience managing external advisors, controlling the compliance calendar, and producing review-ready deliverables across entity types.
- Advanced Excel skills and a systems mindset, with interest in improving efficiency through technology, automation, and better data flow.
- Strong judgment, project management, and stakeholder partnership skills, including comfort advising on distribution impacts and recurring investor needs.
- Plus: exposure to alternative investments, fund structures, and cross-border withholding considerations.
Benefits and Compensation
This role offers a total rewards package designed to support sustained performance and career growth.
- Competitive base salary with annual bonus opportunity.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401(k) program.
