The Children's Home of Reading Youth & Family Services is seeking a Classroom Aide to assist our amazing teachers working with children in our Internal Education Programs during the summer school session and during at other times during the 2025-2026 school year.

Summer Session: Monday, 6/16/25 – Friday, 7/25/25

Schedule & Hours: Monday - Friday; 8 am to 12 Noon

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist teacher in evaluating pupils’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records and paperwork, and assist in the preparation of progress reports
  • Assist in the creation of functional and organized environment for learning
  • prepare bulletin boards and displays as required by the teacher
  • Assist teacher in daily preparations for the day, marking papers and keeping accurate records of students’ academic and behavioral performance

Education and Experience:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year experience in a classroom or similar setting
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students to promote learning.
  • Comfortable in various levels of behavioral health among the youth adolescents population.
  • Driver's License (Preferred)

Additional Requirements: The candidate must pass required Criminal Record History Clearance, FBI and Child Abuse History Clearance, as well as possess a valid PA driver's license and maintain a good driving record throughout employment. The candidate must pass a pre-employment Physical & Drug Screening & possess the ability to attend and successfully complete all required trainings.
