Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced General Manager 6 – Food & Nutrition Services to lead daily operations at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, a 900-bed facility in Washington, DC. The GM will oversee all Food & Nutrition functions including patient meal services, retail dining, the doctors’ lounge, and catering. This role requires strong leadership in operations, finance, and client relations to deliver exceptional patient and customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all food & nutrition services under the contract.
- Lead a management team handling patient services, retail operations, payroll, and cash control.
- Ensure high-quality food service and customer satisfaction.
- Drive financial performance and meet company/client goals.
- Build strong client, customer, and nursing relationships.
- Develop staff and foster a positive, compliant work environment.
- Create strategic plans that support growth and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with Sodexo and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of management and functional experience.
- General Manager Food & Nutrition leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
- Strong background in operations, finance, patient services, retail, and client relations.
- Demonstrated commitment to nursing collaboration and the patient experience.
- Experience in staff development, engagement, and regulatory compliance in DC preferred.
- Track record of strong leadership, supervisory success, and collaborative management style.
- Ability to drive growth, manage budgets, and achieve financial targets.
