Milieu Manager – Residential & Detox Operations
Banyan Treatment Centers | Tampa (Seminole), FL
Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a Milieu Manager to support daily operations at our Tampa (Seminole) campus, a new facility within an established organization. At Banyan Tampa, we provide detox and residential services across substance-use-disorder (SUD) and mental health (MH) tracks.
This is a hands-on management role focused on keeping the environment structured, safe, and running effectively across all levels of care. You will lead the Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) and oversee the non-clinical operations that directly impact patient flow, supervision, and daily programming.
This role is built for someone who understands residential treatment from the ground up—how the day actually unfolds, where things break down, and how to step in and stabilize operations in real time.
Position Details
- Reporting To: Executive Director
- Location: Seminole, FL (Tampa area, on-site)
- Schedule: Full-time | 12 - 8 PM | Tuesday - Saturday
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day flow of operations across detox and residential units, including admissions, discharges, transfers, groups, and patient movement
- Maintain a structured, predictable environment that supports patient safety and engagement
- Identify and resolve operational breakdowns in real time, including staffing gaps, supervision risks, and workflow issues
- Maintain consistent presence on the floor to support staff and stabilize operations as needed
- Directly manage Behavioral Health Technicians across shifts, setting clear expectations and holding accountability
- Align staffing and coverage with census and acuity, ensuring appropriate supervision at all times
- Coach performance, address issues quickly, and reinforce professionalism and consistency
- Build a team culture grounded in structure, respect, and patient-centered care
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant treatment environment across all units
- Respond to incidents, behavioral issues, and safety concerns with clear operational follow-through
- Conduct routine walkthroughs and inspections, address risks proactively
- Ensure adherence to supervision protocols, documentation standards, and patient safety practices
- Collaborate with a multi-interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Maintain alignment with Joint Commission standards, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2 requirements
- Support accurate documentation, incident reporting, and corrective action follow-through
- Ensure the program remains audit- and survey-ready through consistent daily execution
Qualifications
- Associate's degree and/or Behavioral Health/Addiction related certification.
- 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in behavioral health or healthcare
- 2+ years of experience in substance use disorder and/or mental health treatment
- Experience leading frontline staff in a 24/7 residential or inpatient setting
- Strong operational judgment and ability to manage competing priorities in real time
- Valid driver’s license (21+)
